Happy New Year.

Going from a movie you probably haven’t seen to the highest-grossing film of the year, of course, we’re going to show you a clip from this movie!
Truthfully though, it's kind of hard to write about this film.
Despite the fact that it connected so hard with audiences it’s fairly surface-level.
From a director standpoint, Kasinksi is an interesting filmmaker, and the fact that he also directed “Tron Legacy” is wild and tells me we should let him make every sequel forever. We could talk about Tom Cruise but that gets messy so quickly.
All we’ll say about that is that we’re stoked for “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”.
Oh! Here’s what we can talk about.
Why did it connect so hard with audiences?
Because it’s well-crafted, enjoyable action filmmaking. Action movies are such a visceral form of entertainment. When you like it, you feel it. Your adrenaline is pumping, hands gripped to the armrest, ass on the end of your seat.
This movie makes you feel it with its incredible shot-on-location aerial sequences.
That is mixed with simple understandable stakes, both in the mechanics of the story and the interpersonal relationships.
So in short, it’s fun, sexy, sincere, and just well-made popcorn fanfare!
