ROM-COM WEEK: Day 2

Love is in the air.

And for all you horny consumers, this is the week for you!

We’ll be taking a look at some of the best scenes in Rom-Com History.

This can be a touchy subject, as everyone has their favorites from the genre.

So, if you have a problem with any of our picks, just remember: this week is all about love, not hate!

Is Phantom Thread a rom-com?

Well, it’s a romance.

And it’s incredibly funny in its own way.

So ya… we’ll count it.

Since we are counting it, it only makes sense that since yesterday we talked about chemistry and all its wonderful complexity. Today, we’re talking about attraction and discomfort; situations where people can't help but feel a spark, even if they have no way of expressing that feeling.

What makes this film incredible is its exploration of a romance that is simultaneously doomed, inevitable, and, dare we say, necessary. Much like “It Happened One Night”, there is a push and pull to the romance.

However, instead of just simple attraction, there is a need to be needed, as well as someone who needs to admit their need.

More accurately, it’s codependency on full display, and PTA knows just how to depict it romantically without endorsing it.
