For today's movie, we want to talk about one of the most intoxicating forms of onscreen relationships: playmates and troublemakers. In other words, people who connect because of the chaos they create.

Sleeping With Other People is an unfortunately overlooked film in its genre.

It’s whitty, charming, boasts charismatic performances from its cast, and really heralds the rom-com into the 21st century without bending to the popular structure of the “Apatow” comedy that has dominated for the past ten years.

This is a film that explores two people that are just so perfect for each other that they can’t help but get together.

It’s frank, honest, and at no point will it bend to the ease and convenience of traditionally likable characters.

The movie dares you to root for these people as they continue to make destructive decision after destructive decision, until it eventually leads to the best decision they could possibly make.
